Small Business Communications Services New Jersey

By Sharon Lewis

If you think that a business telephone system is all about making and receiving phone calls - then you might need to think again! Of course, phone calls going in and out remain an important part of any commercial telecoms system. You probably will not think too highly of business communications services New Jersey if it did not support your clients and customers being able to call you and vice-versa.

To anyone much under about 50 years of age, such a situation sounds laughable and perhaps about as relevant today as an old silent movie. Though in fact, it was not uncommon even well into the 1970s. Yet can you afford to be complacent and think that the above sounds incredibly primitive?

Phone systems have evolved to be cost effective and although many still think that it is only large operational companies that can afford to keep and maintain them, this is simply not true anymore. Small shops, salons, offices and any commercial entities from 1 to over 1,000 employees and phone agents can find an IP or PBX phone to suit their needs.

That is why a specialist provider of commercial telecoms may be able to help review your current position and suggest upgrades and alternative approaches that may help facilitate a smoother operation. Talking about new approaches and new phone systems may be fine - but that may seem a luxury you can't afford if your existing system is constantly causing you grief.

It may be necessary to objectively think about whether or not your existing phone system is capable of supporting: complicated office support functions such alarms, calendars, call forwarding, and conferencing (audio and video); automation through menu systems; multi-site support such as switching incoming calls to various geographical locations; voice mail and messaging. If you have answered no to any of the above, then your venture telecoms may, in relative terms, be closer to the above historical situation than you may think!

Moving your office phone unit to the cloud and investing in hosted telephony or IP-based telecoms means doing away with most of the hardware kept on site. This may seem daunting at first but ultimately it can actually be very beneficial; there is very little to no installation, minimum business disruption and no management overheads for you.

New systems - a major capital spend? Perhaps not! Business phone solutions can start from something as modest as two handsets. As your venture grows and perhaps its requirements become clearer, modern systems from companies like Siemens can easily be upgraded to grow with you.

Certainly, some of this overhead could be better support systems or enhanced features, but does it matter to you? Investigating the options available to your venture will pay off. Do you really care that the carrier is nationwide and has offices in every city if you are located in one area? Local players often have a better value on better service for their local market.
