Simple Steps On Making Christmas Floral Arrangements

By Diane Long

Christmas flowers are very popular, especially when celebrating one most awaited event in a year, the Yuletide season. There are a lot of countries who have been making use of these seasonal plants or flowers for decorations, including holly, mistletoe, Christmas cactus, ivy, Poinsettia, and Christmas rose. If all of these are combined, the formation would be the Christmas traditional decorations.

During the Christmas dinner, people would commonly be adding finishing touches or decorations into their table. And the most common example to these decorations are the Christmas floral arrangements Bozeman. There are really some people who love to spend much amount of their money just top buy those expensive designs, when in fact, they can make some basic designs on their own and these require only inexpensive supplies. To do it, follow these simple steps.

Provide a floral foam then strap it into a saucer by the use of a floral foam tape. This is used to stick the item even when wet. You will also be needing to cut the foam according to your desired shape or according to the size of the saucer so it can fit. Make sure to leave a space at the center when taping where the candle will be placed. Taping can be done diagonally in the corners.

Put the candle in the center of foam and push it slowly downwards for about a half inch. The depth of pushing depends upon the candles length. If the candle is long, push it more than a half inch. Just make sure that it is secured and will not fall so that surrounding decorations will not be damaged and to avoid as well on catching fire when lighted.

Take four pieces of the blue pine branches and cut these for about ten inches as its length. Then after, place the branches horizontally into the base of foam, parallel to its saucer. The last needles set must be removed, about one inch. These can be removed by hands or using a pair of scissors. Put another layer of the blue pine, about an angle of 45 degrees in both sides and also on top of an oasis. Avoid putting too many of it so that it will not reach to a candle tip, thus, avoiding fire.

Place a berried ivy between blue pines. You must ensure that everything you have placed in there are pointing towards the central point, only beneath your candle. This will allow all foliages on radiating outwards from your centerpiece. Make sure that all the large sprigs are placed in the bottom of your arrangement. Do not leaving some gaps, if necessary, fill them all.

Prepare the small cones, group them into three and wrap these bunches to each tip of wires being tied. The preferred size of these wires is 4 inches in length. When placing the bunches, observe on having even intervals to the centerpiece. Then after, tie the cinnamon as well in groups of 3 with the use of cord. Two bunches will be placed for each group of cones, one on top and bottom.

Place some apples as well in bunches of three and placed them around the cones. Make sure to cut the stems of the rose especially the thorns and the leaves. The stems must be cut shorter if ever these will go beyond the length of centerpiece.

Make the ribbon. Make a double loop, bunch these loops together using your thumb and forefinger. Make sure that excess ribbons are cut. And lastly, tie it into both sides and base of centerpiece.
