Safe And Certain Super Glue Remover Tips

By Lisa Cooper

Superglue sticks very fast and can be dangerous in case it spills. It is usually very strong and needs to be removed as quickly as possible. When it falls on the skin, the process of removal is tedious and painful. You will need a super glue remover alongside other tips to make the process safer and less painful.

Remove it by rubbing and separate the area as soon as possible. When allowed to stay, it will stick very fast and prove impossible to remove. Use a wet piece of cloth that will keep the area from drying. You should also not spread it to other parts of your body to avoid extending the damage.

If the superglue has already dried up on your skin, you need to apply other removal mechanisms. They include the use of tweezers or nails to peel it off the surface. Monitor whether the affected part is painful especially when trying to lift it off. If the affected area is sensitive and has soft tissues or skin, seek professional medical assistance in removing. You might damage the underlying tissues.

Soak the affected area in water to make it soft for removal. Water softens the adhesive, making removal easier and fast. Add some soap or detergent into the water and soak your finger or cover the affected area for a minute. Using a spatula or spoon, try to scoop it off the skin. You might repeat the procedure several times to completely remove it from your skin.

Mineral spirit is an effective option for people with soft and sensitive skins. The spirits loosen both the skin and glue without damage. You will need to perform this procedure repeatedly to achieve desired results. The area must be rubbed gently to avoid peeling the skin alongside the sticky adhesive. Being abrasive will only cause more damage to your hand.

There is the option of acetone if your skin is resilient. This option is completely out of reach for people with sensitive skins because it is totally irritating. Remember that acetone is dangerous when used on open wounds. This method also works by soaking the finger or area in acetone several times. You may consider adding vinegar which will also loosen the affected area. Never use a cotton swab because of its violent reaction that might result in fire.

Ordinary laundry detergent is also used on normal skins. The procedure is to soak the area in diluted detergent for a while before trying to scope it off. Soaking it several times will do the trick. Do not be forceful. Several attempts will give the desired results. Margarine is also used in softening the glue and removing superglue especially for people with a sensitive skin.

Sensitive areas and those with a soft skin require caution in case superglue sticks. They include lips and eyelids. Try the neutral and safe options of saliva and water, with a lot of patience. Rub the area patiently ensuring that it is free of pain. Seek professional medical attention as soon as possible to avoid permanent and continued damage.
